Summerleaze Residential Care Home in Exmouth has numerous regular activities on offer for our residents. One of our most popular activities is flower arranging, where we work with any number of residents to create some beautiful arrangements.

Making flower arrangements is ideal for our residents as it allows them to create something of great visual appeal adding an abundance of colour and happiness to the home and their room.

We believe that offering regular activities within our care home setting is extremely beneficial to our residents. These activities help to keep the residents involved in whats happening in the world around them and offers a change to their normal routine. Our activity plan provides our residents with an opportunity for daily activity and a chance to socialize with the other residents.

Exmouth Care Home, Summerleaze Residential Home now offer bookable respite care, so when you go on holiday or need a break we can help.Summerleaze a 3 star excellent care home on the Budleigh road know the difficulties of people in Exmouth and the surrounding area who look after loved ones at home and find it almost impossible to find a care home that offers respite care accommodation in Exmouth. We know of many people have had to go out of the County to find a vacancy in a care home they know nothing about. Care Home Residents in Exmouth get Broadband

With ever increasing technology and the use of the internet we are trying to develop new ways of communicating to our residents and their families.

If you have an email address we would very much like you to send us an email so we can add it to our database.

We have now installed WIFI throughout the home and residents have access to a PC in the sun lounge which has broadband, email and SKYPE. Please let us know if you have Skype we would love to set up a web-chat. The furthest we have been to see a relative was in Canada, can you beat this?

Summerleaze Residents offer advice for the future

Residents of Summerleaze Residential Home buried a time capsule in the grounds of their home, with the help of four year old Peter Covell with his dad Mike.

Residents from an Exmouth care home helped organise the burial of a time capsule.

Buried at Summerleaze Residential Home, in Salterton Road, last week, it included stamps, a pen, coins, mobile phone and newspapers.

Mike Covell, the home owner, said: “It was decided to compile a selection of items typical of the present, but which they felt would become history in the not too distant future. They also wrote a letter to the people of the future with a little advice from the present and detailing their hopes for the years to come.”

The project was facilitated by Sue Moore, a holistic therapist. Residents are hoping the time capsule will not be dug up for at least 50 years.

Exmouth Care Home Resident Joins Cranford Sports Centre

Sheelagh joined the Residents at Summerleaze Residential Home in October 2008. She will be turning 77 in January and joined The Cranford Sports Centre 3 months ago, travelling on her buggy she enjoys regular workouts up to 5 mornings a week. As you can see from her picture she is enjoying a gentle workout with one of their friendly members of gym staff.
